The License Tool is a self-service solution to easily calculate group-wide license fees for royalties and trademarks of affiliated companies. You import and maintain the relevant key data of license contracts covering licensee and licensor, product groups or individual products, royalty % rates, royalty per unit value, definition by country or customer, etc. The globally managed license contract list is combined with the Optravis transactional data model to fully automate the calculation of the license fees.

License fees are calculated on the basis that best suits our customers’ needs, covering the planning, tracking and regular billing process.

Customizable billing schemes also support even ongoing adjustments based on planned and actual data aiming to reduce fluctuations between the monthly billed amounts.

Bottom-up input from local officers, such as corrections and comments, can be collected in a structured process, ensuring a high quality and validated calculation base.

The final license fee calculation, along with all its input parameters is documented in the License Tool. It acts as a single source of truth and is available for TP documentation purposes and any future tax audit requests from local tax authorities. Detailed reports provide the required breakdowns of the calculation base such as license contract, customer, product, country, etc.
